This strategic role involves providing strategic advice to developers and local authorities through all stages of the development process, with a focus on town centre regeneration and residential schemes.
Client Advisory Services
* Provide expert advice to clients on:
* Land assembly issues, including negotiation and acquisition strategies.
* Compulsory purchase processes and compensation strategies.
* Viability assessments and feasibility studies to inform project delivery decisions.
* Collaboration agreements to enable partnerships between developers, local authorities, and stakeholders.
* Developer procurement strategies, including tendering and evaluation processes.
* Funding options for development schemes, including public and private financing mechanisms.
* Lead the preparation of detailed reports, business cases, and strategic advice for clients.
Business Development
* Drive the acquisition of new clients, identifying and securing opportunities in the regeneration and residential development markets.
* Build strong relationships with developers, local authorities, and other stakeholders in the region.
* Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning the company as a market leader.
* Work with the marketing team to develop region-specific campaigns and thought leadership content.
Team Development
* Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of development consultants.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development.
* Establish processes and systems to ensure the team delivers exceptional service to clients
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven track record in development consultancy, with significant experience advising on town centre regeneration and residential schemes.
* Expertise in land assembly, compulsory purchase, and viability assessments.
* Strong understanding of the planning and development process, including relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
* Excellent client relationship management and business development skills, with a demonstrable ability to win and retain work.
* Leadership experience, including building and managing high-performing teams.
* Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage budgets, profitability, and team performance.
Desirable
* Experience working with both public and private sector clients.
* Knowledge of developer procurement processes and funding mechanisms.
* Existing network of contacts within the development and regeneration sectors in Manchester and the wider North West region.
