Estimator – Engineering & Fabrication Location: Glasgow | Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE) 10% Bonus Benefits We are currently looking for an experienced Estimator with a background in light/medium fabrication to join our team based at our head office near Glasgow. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in fabrication, machining, and welding full assemblies, who is looking to work on bespoke steelwork structures of up to 300 tons for high-end facilities across multiple industries like: Oil & Gas, Nuclear & Power, Rail, Storage Tanks & Petrochemical, Steel Framing, Bridges & Infrastructure, Subsea & Offshore, Piling, Marine & Renewables, Transmission & Distribution. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for light/medium fabrication and bespoke steelwork projects. Analyse technical drawings and specifications to determine material, labour, and cost estimates. Conduct Material Take Offs, including proprietary items. Collaborate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure cost efficiency. Price site installations accurately, where required. Create tender returns, including a final offer letter using a standard template. Maintain and update pricing documentation using Excel & Word. Conduct site visits as needed (a driving license is desirable). Candidate Profile: We are seeking an Estimator with experience in: Light/medium fabrication (required). Heavy fabrication (advantageous). Pipework (desirable). Machining knowledge (preferred). Fabrication, machining, and welding full assemblies (advantageous). Shop floor experience within engineering workshops. Site installation pricing (beneficial). Additionally, strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular customer interaction.
