Job Title: Platform Engineer

The Cloud Platform team are looking for a Platform Engineer to help manage and improve our Azure Cloud services. The team manage day to day operations in Cloud (Azure), ensuring the platform remains stable and updated. The Platform engineer will apply DevOps principles and practices to the management of the platform.
About the role
* Help manage Royal London’s Azure tenant – ensuring it remains highly available and secure.
* Support teams working in the Azure to develop and deploy their solutions as required.
* Deliver technical solutions and processes for the Cloud Platform’s own tooling.
* Develop automation for all aspects of platform service management including patching, upgrades and changes.
* Applying DevOps principles and tools, exploiting cloud, container, and infrastructure-as-code capabilities to help improve the automated provision, test, and operation of the platform technologies and services in your area.
* Identify, respond to, investigate, and resolve incidents and problems that impact service operation.
* Define and maintain standards and security controls for Cloud Platform managed technologies.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the platforms and tools, managing complexity, and ensuring integrity, security, and reliability of services.
* Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and management of knowledge information, technical communities, documentation, and standards related to the platform technologies and services in your area.
About you
* Exposure to Cloud technologies and tools (eg Azure Dev Ops).
* Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines (not necessarily Cloud focused).
* Scripting experience in a language like PowerShell or Python.
* Experience of terraform or other IaC (infrastructure as code).
* Good understanding of networking and related protocols.
