Farm Assistant, Northallerton, North Yorkshire. £30,500 per annum Are you a committed individual and not shy of getting stuck in and working hard? We are working with a small family-run poultry farming business looking to expand its workforce to help in the day-to-day running of the farm in Northallerton. This role is offered on a permanent basis, with 39 contracted hours per week, working 7 am to 4 pm daily, less 1 hour on a Friday, plus paid overtime of up to 9 hours a week (EU Directive limits). Duties will include but not limited to: Maintaining environmental conditions for optimum bird welfare. Monitoring of automated systems and replenishment of bedding. Maintaining site hygiene and reporting of required maintenance. Adherence to Health and Safety procedures and compliance with assurance scheme requirements. Working under the direction of onsite Manager. Assisting with estate maintenance. This is a role you will be getting stuck into right from the start. You must possess the ability to work independently and integrate well as part of a team. Qualifications aren’t as important as the ability to be punctual, be prepared to learn, and have the desire to work on a farm. Experience isn’t necessary but a background in country life would be beneficial. This is a physical role, involving manual work. You must be willing to work out of core hours [nights/weekends] if required. A driving licence and access to own transport are essential. They will pay for any training and further qualifications if they feel this is beneficial to the role.
