Job summary The post holder will be part of the medical monitoring team and will work in collaboration with other members of the Adult ADHD Service as part of the team providing assessment and outpatient treatment for patients aged 18 and over with ADHD. This post primarily involves annual medical reviews, including monitoring risk, and medical monitoring which is within the scope of a primary care medical practitioner. Providing 'Advice and guidance' to GPs will also be part of the role. Specialist experience of ADHD is not essential. With experience the role may evolve to include providing consultancy to staff in primary care and mental health services; teaching and training; and contributing to service audit/evaluation. The post holder will be required to work within the framework of the Service's policies and procedures and to supervise and support the work of less qualified team members and trainees. The post-holder will ensure that they are in good medical standing for CPD, that their practice is up-to-date and in line with the GMC's Good Medical Practice Guidelines and will be able to evidence this for the purposes of annual appraisal.
