Vacancy: Associate IT Director Location: UK, flexible with hybrid working Job Family: IT As the Associate IT Director, you will play a pivotal role within the Engineering department, serving as a strategic advisor and trusted confidant to the Engineering Director. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering planning and execution, fostering collaboration across platform teams, and driving initiatives that support the company's overall strategic vision. Your responsibilities: Holistic Engineering Roadmap: In collaboration with platform team leads and the Engineering Director, consolidate individual roadmaps to create a unified and comprehensive engineering roadmap aligned with the company's long-term goals. Business Case Development: Partner with platform teams to develop compelling business cases that articulate the value proposition of key engineering initiatives, considering both financial and operational benefits Budget Management: Develop and oversee the engineering department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across platform teams. Prioritization & Resource Allocation: Prioritize engineering initiatives based on their strategic impact, resource requirements, and alignment with the overall roadmap. Cross-Functional Alignment: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key leaders and stakeholders across all IT functions (I&O, Security, Delivery Teams, etc.). Foster open communication channels and promote collaboration to break down silos. Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions. Identify opportunities where cross-functional collaboration will be most beneficial for project success or strategic initiatives. Champion the creation of matrix teams for special projects, ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise are represented. Facilitate the onboarding and alignment of team members from different functions Process Improvement: Align with the Engineering Director to continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes to enhance efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure optimal delivery of projects. Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings. Requirements for the role: Experience in a strategic planning or program management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders. Ability to build strong and positive relationships Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
