Your new company A unique opportunity for an experienced commercially aware finance professional to join this £3m business as their new Finance Manager / Management Accountant based in Kings Lynn. As this is an urgent role to fill, the company will consider a temp to perm option, but we are also keen to see candidates who have a notice period. Your new role As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for producing the monthly management pack, which will include accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet review as well as variance analysis on budgets vs. actual spend. This will also involve preparation of statutory financial statements, reviewing the costing of projects and detailed cash flow forecasting. You will be part of the senior leadership team reporting to the Managing Director, as you will be the main point of contact in finance, and supported by two finance clerks who manage the bank reconciliations, transactional finance and collating payroll data. As explained, this role is very broad, covering company secretarial duties such as reviewing board minutes, annual returns, submitting corporation tax returns and assisting external auditors, as well as being the contact for IT issues and overseeing the smooth running of the warehouse alongside the Warehouse Manager. As part of the Senior Management team, you will also assist the Managing Director in reviewing and negotiating energy costs, carriage, packaging as well as company legal requirements, including VAT returns and other compliance matters. What you'll need to succeed You will be a self-motivated, part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience accountant with Finance Manager / Management Accountant skills and seeking a varied role with one of Kings Lynn's established SME businesses where you will make an impact across the organisation. You will be supported by two finance clerks who undertake bookkeeping and your responsibility will be the production of the monthly management accounts as well as year-end duties. Ideally, you will have an interest in IT and systems as you will also be the point of contact for IT-related tasks, taking responsibility for hardware and software with the outsourced IT supplier.
