JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction and guidance of the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Associate I is responsible for supporting the GOAL division by interacting with customers, quoting parts and equipment, entering sales orders, and maintaining files. The Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Actively interact with customers by responding to calls and emails in a timely manner.
2. Field customer requests, define customer needs, and cross-reference each request with previous quotes and orders from SAP, Timberline, SharePoint, GOAL Team database, or original project folders to ensure accuracy.
3. Obtain vendor quotes through the purchasing department according to the vendor RFQ procedure, determine our selling price, and prepare a worksheet for each quotation when necessary.
4. Write and deliver quotations through SAP ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; communicate with sales associate, applications engineer, or Regional Sales Manager if you have any issues or concerns regarding quotes.
5. Enter an SAP opportunity if applicable according to the opportunity work instructions.
6. Review open quotes list on a bi-weekly basis to manually close the open quotes that you have written and that have expired according to the quotation work instructions.
7. Review customer’s purchase order, check for accuracy, and sign and return to customer when necessary; communicate with sales associate, applications engineer, or technical manager-GOAL if you have any issues or concerns regarding customer purchase orders.
8. Record sales orders into SAP ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; distribute sales order confirmation to the customer and internal sales order confirmation to the appropriate internal customers; create file folders, communicate with sales associate, applications engineer, or Regional Sales Manager if you have any issues or concerns regarding orders.
9. Record all sales orders on the customer contract file spreadsheet.
10. Obtain SAP item numbers through the Item and BOM Specialist following the Item and BOM request procedures and item description guidelines.
11. Place purchase requests through SAP ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; communicate with sales associate, applications engineer, or Regional Sales Manager if you have any issues or concerns regarding purchase requests.
12. Check near due or past due open sales orders weekly and work with GOAL salesperson to update the due date and identify root causes of late orders. Work with purchasing and shipping department if necessary to help correct any issues that may be delaying the order. Make reports as assigned and instructed.
13. Open SAP service calls as assigned according to the SAP Field Service Work Instructions.
14. Open SAP equipment cards for each new service call that does not have an equipment card open yet according to the SAP Field Service Work Instructions.
15. Update SAP sales orders for field service based on field technician expense report and timesheet according to the SAP Field Service Work Instructions.
16. SAP Business One and administrative job duties as required and assigned.
17. Observe all Crown & OSHA safety policies and/or customer’s safety policies, whichever is stricter.
18. Assist or manage the development and deployment of new or existing systems, procedures, or policies as assigned.
19. Travel to other Crown and CPM offices to collaborate with internal colleagues.
20. Travel to customer or vendor sites for training as required.
21. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
22. Support Application Engineers and Regional Sales Manager with any clerical or administrative tasks as required.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a business-related field.
2. Related experience in customer service, sales support, or project management is a plus.
3. Demonstrable experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating value for end customers, and driving operational excellence within areas of responsibility.
4. Must be flexible and able to drive change management.
5. Self-manages; takes initiative and able to collaborate across geographies and functions in a matrixed environment.
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
8. High integrity and ethics.
9. Understand and resolve technical questions and requests.

11. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
12. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
13. Operate office machines and type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
14. Preferred knowledge of SAP Business One or other similar ERP system required.
15. Preferred knowledge of SharePoint.
16. Preferred knowledge of a CRM system and a field service management software.
17. Must be able to communicate in English fluently; ability to communicate in a second language – European or Asian languages preferred but not required.
18. Ability to travel on a need basis – domestically or internationally and up to 10% of the time.
