University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust are looking for motivated and driven Pharmacy Technicians to join their Medicines Optimisation team.
This post is suitable for:
• Qualified medicines management/optimisation technicians looking for a new challenge or a change of location
• Community based pharmacy technicians looking for a career change
You should be able to work as part of a team but also have the ability to work flexibly and independently in a professional manner. The role will involve interaction with a variety of people, including patients, nurses and doctors; therefore applicants must possess excellent communication skills.
• Medicines optimisation duties on the wards, undertaking medicines reconciliation, patient’s own drug assessments, patient counselling and reducing unnecessary wastage on discharge by managing the medication supply pathway and providing a one-stop dispensing service
• Dispensary duties including checking dispensed medicines as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
