Our client, a reputable entity in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Team Leader/CNC Machinist for a Temp to Perm role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and lead the milling section to ensure quality and efficiency in production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set and operate CNC milling machine tools.
* Set cutting tools and establish machine tool and workpiece datums.
* Assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.
* Self-inspect own work in accordance with the planning layout and customer drawing.
* Manage daily quality and production requirements and performance issues.
* Provide training for new or temporary employees.
* Undertake return to work interviews, performance reviews, maintain discipline, ensure safe working practices, and maintain appropriate records.
* Liaise between your peer/work group and management regarding day-to-day problems.
* Hold meetings with the team and act on feedback.
* Maintain close liaison with the Operations Manager or his deputy regarding the improvement of production or handling techniques.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in a supervisory role.
* Proficiency in using CNC machines; Mazak machine tools experience is desirable, but not essential.
* Ability to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components in a variety of materials.
* Strong understanding of quality and production management.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work effectively between different teams and management.
* Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and production efficiency.
* Potential for competitive rates based on experience.
