About Us
We are a forward-thinking practice located in the Georgian town of Holt, on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Glaven Vets has been part of the local community since the 1960s, providing the highest standard of veterinary care for your pets, whilst offering a personal touch. We have great facilities as well as separate cat and dog waiting areas and wards. Our team consists of 4 vets (supported by long-term locums), 7 RVNs, 1 SVN, and 2 ANAs, as well as a team of support staff.
Working primarily at our main Holt branch with some cover at our Wells-next-to-sea branch undertaking nurse consults. We are a Practice Standard accredited RVN Training practice.
The nurse team is an integral part of our team and works in all areas of the practice covering nurse consultations to include weight clinics, 6-month checks, nail trimming, nutrition chats, and many more. Responsibilities include:
1. Patient nursing including critical care patient nursing
2. Scrub nurse duties
3. Patient triage
4. Blood sampling and catheter placement
5. Administering anaesthetics for mainly small animals and occasionally exotics
6. Radiography
7. Lab and microscope work
8. Maintaining health and safety standards and hygiene protocols
CPD is encouraged and well supported with an excellent CPD budget and additional staff benefits.

A standard working day in the practice starts at 8:30 and finishes at 18:30. We are looking for cover for 24 hours a week and 1 in 9 Saturday mornings, but there is no out-of-hours commitment. Salary is up to £30,000 DOE pro rata. This is a FTC for 9 months.
