We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Herefordshire to assist with the appointment of a Food Safety Inspector, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £78.50 - £97.89 per Hour
Summary:
The Food Hygiene Inspector will be responsible for carrying out food hygiene and food standards inspections across approximately 100 category D food premises within Herefordshire. The role requires independent scheduling and travel, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and the Food Law Code of Practice (England).
Responsibilities:
* Conduct full food hygiene and food standards inspections, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Assess and determine the risk rating and Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) score for each premises.
* Complete and submit detailed intervention reports, including risk assessments and necessary enforcement recommendations.
* Issue and submit inspection reports, proforma documents, and letters (if required) following each inspection.
* Plan and manage own work schedule, ensuring all required premises are inspected before March 2025.
Qualifications:
* Recognised qualification demonstrating competency under the Food Law Code of Practice (England).
* Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, Food Safety, or a related field (Desirable).
Experience:
* Experience conducting food hygiene and food standards inspections in a regulatory environment.
* Knowledge of food safety legislation, risk rating, and the FHRS framework.
* Ability to produce detailed, accurate, and legally compliant reports.
