Short term contract or full time contracts available Due to growth in our Major Projects and Nuclear sectors, we have an opportunity for a Senior HVAC Engineer to join the team in Renfrew. This role is an opportunity to have a major impact on several ground-breaking projects and help shape the future of the industries in which we work. As our new Senior HVAC Engineer, you will be involved in concept design, feasibility studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), and detailed engineering for HVAC systems in Green and Brownfield projects across Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Oil & Gas sectors. You will work independently and collaborate with a high-performing team to complete varying assignments including design calculations and developing specifications and datasheets for HVAC systems. You will coordinate HVAC system designs with engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimal solutions and manage vendors to achieve project deliverables within budget and on schedule. The candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to build effective relationships and encourage feedback from others. You will undertake checking, peer reviews & incorporation of comments for engineering deliverables. Strong project management and decision-making skills are essential to manage multiple workloads simultaneously. Backed by a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in similar industries, our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC regulations, codes, industry standards, and engineering practices to design and optimise HVAC system ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. You will prepare, check, and review HVAC engineering design documentation, including technical specifications, control philosophies, system philosophies, basis of design, HVAC and LEV calculations, datasheets, system layouts and ductwork design. In addition, we are looking for someone who has obtained or working towards Chartered accreditation with the IMechE.
