Equans are looking for a Quantity Surveyor Officer to join our team in Tamworth on a permanent basis.
This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
* Control all project-related expenditure
* Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts
* Assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming
* Oversee sub-contract procurement and commercial management
* Liaise with buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
* Manage day-to-day cost control, monitoring, and reporting
* Address contractual issues in coordination with the Contract Manager
* Measure progress, submit valuations, final accounts, and retention releases, and monitor payment receipts
* Complete monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flows for projects
* Attend project and company-related meetings
* Manage project costs to keep the company and client fully informed
* Develop and train trainee and assistant surveyors
* Manage profitability reporting for the project, working with the commercial and operational teams, ensure accuracy and robustness of financial reporting (CVRs/WCT) with all risks and opportunities identified and discussed with senior management

Who are we looking for?
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor
* Post-graduate experience in a surveying position reporting to a senior surveyor or commercial manager
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
* Proficiency in contract law, building regulations, and health and safety regulations
* Proficiency in IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Project, Word)
Desirable:
* Membership in a professional body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
* Master’s degree in a related field
* Experience with large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software
