Port Operations Assistant
Location: Belfast
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full time, permanent.
We are looking for a Port Operations Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of our Port in Belfast. In this role, you will assist in planning and coordinating daily activities, maintain operational records, and support resource allocation to ensure efficiency. You will also monitor key operational systems and act as a key liaison between port teams, duty managers, and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication, support briefings, and provide administrative assistance.

Some of your key responsibilities:
1. Provide administrative support to the Port Manager and Operations team.
2. Maintain and update records on cargo handling, performance, and resource management.
3. Assist with resource planning and allocation to optimise efficiency.
4. Monitor and update operational systems, including rePORT, Asset HQ, Quinyx, and Prosapien.
5. Manage purchases for Port Operations, coordinating with Finance on payments.
6. Handle procurement and supply orders for the Belfast Port Operations Team.
7. Maintain records for the workshop, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring queries are addressed.
8. Act as a key point of contact between port teams, duty managers, and stakeholders.
9. Support meetings, training sessions, and operational updates with administrative tasks.
10. Prioritise workloads to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
11. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
12. Undertake additional duties as required.

* Background in port operations, logistics, or administrative support.
* Solid knowledge of operational processes and resource management
* Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communicator with strong teamwork capabilities.
* Proficient in operational systems and software such as rePORT, Asset HQ, Quinyx, and Prosapien.
