Are you a Medical Secretary looking for your next role in healthcare? As a Medical Secretary, you will provide efficient secretarial support to the Clinic and Consultant(s) on a daily basis. Your support is relied upon by consultants, clinicians and patients and crucial to maintain an efficient and effective clinical facility. You will often be the first point of contract for users of the clinic and will proactively deal with enquiries from patients and colleagues in a professional manner. Key Accountabilities Typing of clinical related documents from Consultants’ dictations, including medical reports Formatting, proofreading and sending all clinical letters through a secure platform Scanning of relevant documentation onto our systems Taking telephone calls, answering patient queries and taking messages Flexibility to cover reception when needed Booking / amending patient clinic appointments General housekeeping and filing Liaising with patients to book appointments, answer patient queries and take messages for consultants General office support during annual leave periods Regularly assessing working practices to identify possible improvements and improve efficiency. What we need from you? As a Medical Secretary, you will have a strong understanding and respect for confidentiality, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in pressured/time sensitive environment. We would ideally like someone who has experience of working within private mental health clinics, however this is desirable and would ask that you have experience of working within a healthcare setting as essential.
