We currently have exciting opportunities for passionate, dedicated Campus Designated Safeguarding Lead. This role offers an annual supplement for DSL responsibility of £2,000. Duties:
* To provide outstanding Safeguarding and wellbeing support for all students, particularly for the most vulnerable.
* To develop and support the implementation of cross college strategies and initiatives that support outstanding health and wellbeing that positively impacts on student attendance, retention and success.
* Work with the Director for Safeguarding to quality assure the provision, evidencing qualitative and quantitative improvements to achieve an outstanding provision.
Skills/Experience:
* Effective knowledge of Safeguarding processes and procedures.
* Thorough and demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the challenges and current issues relating to FE including related legislation.
* Significant experience of working with external agencies and stakeholders.
* Recent experience of supporting children and vulnerable adults with their mental health and understanding the barriers to learning faced.
Qualifications:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working in HE/FE sector.
* Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) trained.
* English and maths to at least a level 2.
Ideal Attributes:
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work off of own initiative and manage complex caseloads.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, agencies, parents/carers.
* Ability to travel independently across sites.
