Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer to join our award-winning Ground Engineering consultancy, to manage projects related to contaminated land assessment and remediation, with values ranging from £250k. This role involves overseeing various project types and phases, including managing site-based subcontractor works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute contaminated land projects in line with scope, budget, and programme to achieve client-defined deliverables.
* Lead multi-disciplinary technical teams, coordinating various workstreams to achieve project outcomes.
* Monitor and control the progress and financial performance of multiple projects concurrently.
* Procure and manage supply chain/subcontractors for site work activities.
* Ensure continued success with client care, including the introduction of new clients or the maintenance of existing ones, and selling of company services to prospective clients.
* Produce relevant risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for site works and ensure Health & Safety remains at the core of all project activities.
* Create proposals for new opportunities, developing pricing to account for technical and commercial risks.
* Support the Associate Director in improving project delivery processes and tools.
Attributes:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
* Chartered status in a relevant discipline (Geologist, Environmental Scientist, Engineer, or Waste Management).
* Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or related field; Masters degree preferable, but not essential.
* Proven experience in contaminated land consultancy.
* Strong understanding of contaminated land site investigation and assessment.
* In-depth knowledge of risk assessment frameworks and methodologies, including experience with risk assessment software (e.g. CLEA, RTM etc.) and completing Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments.
* Experience with waste assessments and waste management guidance (e.g. DoWCoP) and preparation of Material Management Plans.
* Familiarity with relevant software tools and data interpretation techniques.
* Experience in proposal writing and project costing.
* Strong analytical skills and a curious, inquisitive mindset.
* Excellent leadership and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work under time pressure, managing multiple priorities concurrently.
* Full UK Driving License with ability and willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.
