About the Company - Our client is a leading international manufacturing business with an enviable reputation in their field. They are growing quickly both organically and via acquisition and are now looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their management team.
About the Role - This individual will be pivotal in helping the group develop a cost-effective supplier base. Working alongside other functions you will support the strategic planning and negotiation process.
Responsibilities
* Create a tender framework and support the tendering process
* Ensure that products are bought at the right cost and regularly review
* Manage supplier contracts and negotiate T & C's
* Support the companies ESG plan
* Manage a small team and develop those individuals
* Work on direct sourcing of certain components when market conditions allow
* Manage and contribute to the monthly planning cycle
* Monitor KPI's and ensure the supply chain operates within agreed parameters
Qualifications
* Strong negotiation skills, can demonstrate excellent relationship-building skills across the company and with suppliers
* 3 - 10 years of purchasing experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to travel occasionally overseas to other group companies and suppliers
* UK CIPS membership or equivalent or qualified by experience
* Good understanding of sub-contract manufacturing
