Job Description:
We are building our QA Projects team to support current production and the development of a world-class mass manufacturing Gigafactory. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes.
Responsibilities:
* Source and assess suppliers to supply necessary materials, with a focus on meeting customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
* Visit suppliers' facilities to review and assess their procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Perform regular quality control audits to ensure suppliers meet company standards.
* Conduct inspections and tests of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to identify defects.
* Maintain reports on supplier quality and implement improvement plans to reduce defect rates.
* Provide technical advice to suppliers to improve their processes and quality control measures.
* Develop quality control plans, procedures, and policies to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
* Analyse quality data and generate reports to track trends and make data-driven decisions.
* Participate in the design and development of new products or processes, providing input on quality requirements.
* Conduct risk assessments and participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential quality risks.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Educated to degree/HND level in a technical subject, preferably related to quality engineering or a similar field.
* Previous experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in manufacturing or engineering.
* Strong knowledge of quality principles, methodologies, and tools, including Supplier Introduction and Core Tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
* Ability to analyse and present data to make quantitative decisions.
* Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and flexibility to work and travel at short notice.
