Climate17 is currently seeking anElectrical Engineerto join a dynamic team on a contract basis for a duration of 12 months.
This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the electrical power distribution network design for auxiliary equipment involved in Gas Turbine projects. Based near Lake Marty, Florida, our client is involved in energy solutions that significantly impact the industry and are focused on sustainable growth.
As a Electrical Engineer, you will engage in meaningful projects that contribute to cutting-edge energy innovations and have the chance to mentor junior engineers while developing comprehensive solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform calculations, equipment sizing (600V and below), and other design duties as dictated by project complexity.
* Prepare purchase specifications and select vendors for electrical packages.
* Design solutions that align with code requirements and customer specifications.
* Develop schedules, coordinate, and manage projects independently.
* Select Motor Control Centers, Power Supplies, and DC systems as needed.
* Interface with vendors regarding component modifications and approvals.
* Respond to technical inquiries from customers and field personnel.
* Utilize SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant 3D for power distribution network design and document creation.
* Resolve pending items during project execution through the warranty period.
* Lead the development of hazardous area classifications and electrical documentation.
* Contribute to proposals based on customer needs.
* Support the growth of junior engineers and interns.
* Occasional travel (~5%).
What We’re Looking For:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial power distribution design (up to 600VAC and 220VDC), with a preferred 7 years.
* Strong mathematical skills needed for complex calculations and design.
* Excellent reasoning ability to interpret technical instructions and solve problems.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications and additional knowledge in project management software.
* Experience with SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant 3D, and lighting software is highly desirable.
