Our prestigious unique market leading client, based in Wymondham, is currently seeking a Junior Control Systems Engineer to join their Systems Engineering team.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Wymondham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational experience in systems / software engineering who is looking to develop their skills further.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
1. Basic understanding of industrial control systems, including I/O and communications systems.
2. Software application development (i.e. experience with PLC software development using structured text)
3. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus i.e. TCP/IP or RTU, CANBus, EtherCAT.
4. Beckhoff automation / TwinCat 3 experience
5. HMI / SCADA experience
6. Familiarity with software version control systems like Git.
7. 3 phase 400v + 1 Phase 230v electrical theory and understanding of electrical/electronic components
8. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
9. Electrical test & commissioning experience
Key Duties:
1. Developing and maintaining software applications (including PLC software) for both new, innovative research and development projects and existing project requirements.
2. Working through the full engineering lifecycle of the power converters, including requirements gathering, PLC application development, testing, and commissioning.
3. Conducting software testing in a factory test environment and supporting product deployment.
4. Integrate to the Systems Engineering team to design, develop, and test system design / software solutions.
5. Interpret technical specifications and requirements to create robust and efficient software applications.
6. Participate in the debugging, troubleshooting, and testing of control systems in a factory environment.
7. Provide support for system commissioning and field testing, ensuring products meet performance and quality standards.
8. Assist with technical documentation, including software specifications, manuals, and test procedures.
9. Maintain and support existing systems by diagnosing and rectifying software issues, support the company’s continual improvement programme.
10. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions.
