As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and build scalable and robust systems that enable and support our new free-to-play game in Unreal Engine.
Reports to
You will report to the Lead Backend Engineer.
What will you do?
* Design and build scalable and robust systems that enable and support our game
* Gather and analyze requirements together with other stakeholders
* Lead and mentor junior colleagues
* Work together with game developers, DevOps engineers, and producers
What are we looking for?
* Hands-on experience of designing and developing microservice architectures to produce scalable, maintainable backend systems
* Kotlin proficiency, including familiarity with Spring Boot and/or its alternatives
* Good understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL databases
* Experience with real-time communication protocols (WebSockets, gRPC, etc.) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
* Experience with test-driven development with a high level of quality
* Experience of developing game backend architectures (state management, real-time player interactions, high load); systems that support matchmaking, leaderboards, and in-game economies, etc.
* Independent, analytical, and a high level of ownership
* Successfully delivered highly scalable systems into production
* Strong communication skills in English
What additional skills will help you stand out?
