Role Description
The People’s Comedy is looking for a passionate, driven Bid Writing Lead to help power our next chapter. We’re one of the fastest-growing comedy platforms in the UK, dedicated to amplifying important voices and creating socially conscious, community-driven comedy.
We’re seeking someone with a flair for identifying funding opportunities, writing persuasive bids, and working independently—someone who thrives on making a difference and wants to be part of something genuinely exciting.
With support from the board on the types of programmes and initiatives that external funding would be good for, you’ll take the lead on sourcing and writing funding applications to support our ongoing work—whether that’s project grants, organisational development funding, or strategic partnerships. We have exciting plans relating to youth education and empowerment, film, VR, and much more, and we're looking for a candidate to join us on that journey.
As a small, developing CIC, this is a freelance position paid via a fixed fee per application, with an additional bonus for each successful bid. It’s ideal for someone with experience in arts or community fundraising who wants flexible, impact-focused work with clear rewards—and the opportunity to grow alongside a dynamic and meaningful brand. We appreciate that this won't be suitable for everyone and so please only apply if this works for you.

* A chance to grow with a bold, socially-conscious organisation
* The opportunity to be part of a respected and rapidly growing name in UK comedy
You Might Be a Great Fit If You
* Have experience writing successful fundraising applications (especially in the arts, community, or social enterprise space)
* Are proactive, organised, and comfortable working independently
* Are excited by our mission to blend comedy and social change
