Our Team You’ll be part of a team of assurance professionals helping the bank meet its legal and regulatory obligations by conducting timely Thematic Reviews, Ongoing Assurance and Close and Continuous assurance activities across all elements of Economic Crime (Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorist Financing, Tax Evasion, Bribery and Corruption, Proliferation Financing and Sanctions Evasion). What you’ll be doing Acting as a key subject matter expert in designing and executing assurance activity to ensure the bank’s Economic Crime systems and controls are keeping our customers safe. Plan, develop and execute an effective risk based annual Economic Crime Assurance Programme to include, Fraud and financial crime related thematic reviews and ongoing assurance activity. Completing planned assurance reviews on time and to required quality using Economic Crime subject matter expertise to ensure control design and operation is efficient and effective. Demonstrate your understanding of the Bank’s customers, products, channels, and business areas and the associated Economic Crime risks Identify control weaknesses and areas for improvement to enhance the Bank’s Economic Crime framework. Consistently produce targeted high quality written and verbal communication to senior management level. Work with Assurance and Audit teams to ensure that Economic Crime Assurance Plans are understood. Feed Assurance findings into future risk-based Economic Crime Assurance plan for VMUK. We need you to have Substantial experience in Financial Services with a background of working within an Economic Crime role, ideally within Second Line of Defence / Assurance. Proven experience of delivering Assurance / Audit reviews Experience as an Economic Crime SME with extensive knowledge of relevant regulation, risks, threats and landscape. Demonstrable experience of delivering high standard written communication and reporting skills. Proven research and analytical skills with the ability to analyse and communicate technical and regulatory matters in a non-technical manner. Fostering teamwork, collaboration and respect for others. A relevant recognised professional qualification in financial services or risk (ICA or equivalent). It’s a bonus if you have but not essential Understanding of risk management principles. Good understanding of Economic Crime risk identification, assessment and measurement principles.
