The Role
As a Development Engineer, you will lead the design and development of air and fuel system components for a highly regarded engine platform. This role offers the opportunity to work in a small, collaborative team while engaging with a global network of engineers, suppliers, and production facilities. You’ll take projects from concept through to production, ensuring world-class levels of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver air and fuel system development projects within time, cost, and quality targets.
2. Communicate project status and key issues to stakeholders and management.
3. Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional support for new designs, supplier nomination, and capital investment.
4. Work with suppliers to develop specifications and ensure high-quality solutions through APQP.
5. Assess technical risks using FMEA and coordinate validation activities (DVP&R).
6. Investigate and resolve technical issues using 8D methodology.
7. Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer needs and design requirements.
8. Write and review technical reports to support production design release.
9. Identify continuous improvement opportunities using Lean methodologies.
About You:
You’ll have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a good understanding of fuel and air systems, ideally within diesel engines. You’ll be self-motivated, able to manage complex projects, and comfortable collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
