Job Description: Wilks Forensic Psychology Ltd. are looking to recruit a Practitioner to deliver one-to-one interventions to support adults and young people with their mental health and to support behaviour change. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based and compassionate approaches. Programmes are based around Cognitive Behavioural, Dialectical Behavioural and Mentalisation Based therapeutic approaches. All programmes are informed by the latest psychological research and practice. They are developed by Dr Fiona Wilks-Riley PhD, Consultant Forensic Psychologist (HCPC). Key Skills, Values, & Responsibilities to be successful in this role: Core Skills for success Confident communication, verbal and written, to deliver impactful one-on-one interventions. These sessions use common techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Wilks Forensic Psychology's own manualised intervention programmes to address problem behaviour. Diligence & organisation to prepare effectively for client sessions, update clinical notes, and coordinate session location. Collaboration with a range of stakeholders including clients, family Support Workers, Social Workers, and Operational Leads. Your background: Essential Criteria: You are passionate about positively improving the lives of others. Degree in Psychology or a related field, or relevant counselling/psychotherapy CBT or DBT training qualification. Ability to develop strong therapeutic alliances with clients and demonstrate compassion Fluent English with strong communication skills (written and verbal). Basic proficiency in report writing, using word-processing, email, and Excel. Ability to maintain professionalism in emotionally challenging situations. There is a requirement to travel around the Liverpool area to deliver client sessions and attend service training. Practitioners must have a full UK driving license. Clear enhanced DBS history. Desirable Criteria: Membership with BABCP, BACP, BPS, HCPC, or other relevant professional bodies. 1 year experience in Delivering individual psychological interventions. Working with individuals with mental health difficulties. Working in a trauma-informed environment. Working with both adults and children aged 11 and over. Basic awareness of neurodiversity needs. Additional training in clinical delivery methods and therapeutic interventions. Understanding of factors contributing to mental health needs and intimate partner violence.
