What will I be doing?
Take part in the Quality Department's operational excellence by joining us as a Special Process Quality Engineer. You will be part of a global, multi-skilled team with whom you will interact daily to carry out the following tasks:
1. Qualification of in-house Special Process installations at Safran Nacelles sites (France, UK, Morocco) and at suppliers (UK and abroad).
2. Contribute as a process specialist to the robustness of the industrialisation of special processes.
3. Assess the compliance of practices to company, Safran Group, and regulatory requirements.
4. Monitor these installations.
5. Play an active role in resolving technical issues, helping to secure production (proposing technical solutions to maintain production, assessing technical risks).
6. Propose technical solutions that are corrective and preventive.
7. Initial qualification of in-house Special Process operators.
8. Opportunity to represent Safran Nacelles within the SAFRAN group's "Special Processes" Competence Group:
9. Share qualification work with common suppliers.
10. Contribute to the development of group procedures for special processes.
11. Relay our issues to benefit from the group's support, or conversely, support the group.
12. Coordinating and assuring the achievement of NADCAP accreditations within your scope and the ongoing accreditation.
13. Actively participate in the continuous improvement process.
You have Engineering related HNC / HND / Degree ideally with at least 3 years' experience. You have a sound knowledge of at least one of the following commodities (ideally in the aeronautics / automotive field) however, other commodities / industries will be considered:
1. Welding
2. Heat Treatment
3. Surface Treatments
You are familiar with quality tools (FMEA, root cause analysis, risk analysis, etc.). Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential, as your position has a global reach.
What you need from me?
1. You are known for your autonomy, rigour, and ability to think on your feet, and you have good interpersonal skills.
2. Strong team player capabilities and happy to work within a team effectively, knowing when to rely on them for support and when to use other skills appropriately.
3. Strong planning & organisational skills in order to plan your time & workload effectively, manage projects and multiple interfaces.
4. You are familiar and comfortable using IT tools e.g., MS Office, databases, etc.
5. You are proactive and are keen to take on new challenges.
6. Occasional travel within the Safran Group and to suppliers will be required.
7. Knowledge / experience of auditing would be an advantage.
