Position: Assistant Design Manager
Location: Halifax
Day Rate: £250-£300-a-day
Duration: 1 year
The role:
An exciting opportunity as one of UK's largest main contractors is looking to recruit an Assistant Design Manager to work on a large office fit out in Halifax with a value of circa £90m.
Duties:
1. Assist the Design Manager with organisational aspects of the project, including document control, BIM model sharing, requests for information, technical queries, BIM Execution Plan, consultants' scopes of service & responsibility matrix, file management, and gate papers.
2. Assist design teams in verification, validation, and certification of designs, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and Employer's Requirements (ERs).
3. Ensure delivery of design documentation in line with design and submissions programme.
4. Monitor and “police” the document control system.
5. Liaise with internal and external construction and design staff.
6. Utilise lean construction techniques to save money, reduce waste, and optimise construction.
7. Support the implementation of BIM protocols, including teamwork and collaboration, and the management and sharing of data relating to BIM models.
Candidate experience:
The successful candidate should be a graduate with an understanding of design and have experience in a similar role. They will have worked for a main contractor or architectural practice previously, ideally on other frameworks in either the public or private sector. A good working knowledge of BIM is desired. This role involves travelling to sites as well as the office, so you will need to be able to drive.
