Client Details
WWF-UK is a large environmental Non-Governmental Organisation with an annual budget of more than £35m spent on third-party suppliers. The Procurement Manager role is a key member of the Procurement and Environmental Management department. The unit is responsible for ensuring the best value for money spent and reducing the risks with our suppliers, leading the procurement process for larger and strategic contracts.
Description
The role will manage the category of spend in collaboration with internal stakeholders from development of category strategies to implementation, ensuring optimised quality, TCO, and high service levels across the business.
The role will need to work closely as a procurement business partner with different departments for several categories of indirect spend procured by the organisation including:
1. Indirect categories (for example, Travel, RH)
2. Direct categories (goods for sales)
This role reports to the Head of Procurement and could deputise for them in their absence. The role is instrumental in the development of the wider organisation's procurement function, including successful implementation of processes and governance. The role is also responsible for driving improvements across the organisation in procurement practice and for ensuring that the organisation's procurement and contract management is proactive and can be demonstrated to be best in class.
Profile
To create and implement procurement strategies for defined spend portfolios, including:
1. Spend and contract owners' identification and services to their queries
2. Facilitation of strategic processes with cross-functional teams
3. Creation and implementation of tenders and contracts
4. Supplier management
Chair certain tender boards and lead the procurement process for the designated categories. Provide advice and guidance on procurement best practices across all levels of the organisation. Participate in the creation and improvement of procurement systems, policies, and procedures. Participate in the procurement reporting to senior management and trustees. Provide high-quality support, advice, guidance, and training regarding procurement or supplier activities to various levels of staff involved in WWF-UK.
Job Offer
Salary: £42,000
Hybrid working - 1 day per week on site in Woking
35 hour working week
Annual leave starting at 26 days, rising one day per year to a maximum of 30 plus bank holidays
