Description Job title: Trainee IT Operations Engineer (Internal Candidates Only) Department: IT Operations Systems Location: Hamble (site visits to Chandlers Ford) GLS: T01 Working hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week onsite role. A brighter future awaits you Job summary – What to expect: We have an exciting Internal opportunity for a Trainee IT Operations Engineer within the IT Operations System team. You will provide operational IT support to UK Manufacturing, UK R&D, GTIG Europe and EMO functions and organisations. Daily interactions with employees from all levels of the business is expected, along with collaboration with local and global IT teams, contractors, vendors, and managed service providers. You will be the primary contact point between IT and the business, the purpose of this role is to develop end user skills and build knowledge within the user base and support them. This helps to enable the delivery of an excellent service to the business for mission-critical systems, day-to-day incident management and resolution, request fulfilment and general system administration duties. Specifically you will: Resolve incidents and request tasks within agreed SLAs, whilst promoting a ‘right first time’ attitude. Order, install and configure end-user devices, peripherals, and software. Participate in IT projects as directed by line management. Collaborate with local and global IT teams to resolve incident and request tasks. Assist with maintenance tasks. Liaise with contractors, vendors, and managed service providers as necessary. Report non-conformance and security risks. Participate in an out of hours support rotation for business-critical incidents. A full job description is available upon request. About you: We are looking for someone who: some experience of working within an IT Operations function. Exposure to medical device manufacturing environments. Basic understanding of computer components and how they operate. Some experience of installing and configuring operating systems and software. Entry-level knowledge of configuring client network settings and undertaking basic network cable patching. Basic awareness of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Citrix and SCCM technologies. Familiar with configuring corporate mobile telephony devices.
