Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong technical abilities, who can analyze and evaluate design solutions to meet specified technical and legislative requirements. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing a range of formal documents for customer approval, while ensuring that all designs meet the necessary standards for functionality, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Analyze the functionality and suitability of design solutions in line with technical and legislative requirements. Generate documentation to substantiate designs, including performance calculations, test plans, and material/component selection justifications. Ensure compliance of electrical designs to customer specifications, particularly in terms of safety and legislative standards. Work collaboratively with mechanical design engineers to ensure integrated design solutions are developed. Follow the design process to ensure timely approvals, mitigations, and compliance at every stage. Support the team by contributing to design documentation and ensuring the designs are fully compliant with required standards. Key Requirements: Degree Qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in Control Panel and/or Low Voltage power distribution. Expertise in Power & Electrical Design, including System Design and Component Selection. Experience with Variable Speed Drives, Motor Starter Panels, Distribution Systems, and PLC Systems is highly desirable. Testing & Automation experience, including writing and managing test plans. Proficiency in E-Plan is desirable, and experience with SolidWorks Electrical would be an advantage. Hands-on experience in electrical engineering and design is essential. General Requirements: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously when needed. Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and customers. Experience with alternative CAD systems is welcomed, as training may be provided for the right candidate. Desirable Skills: Ability to work with alternative CAD systems and adapt quickly to new design software. A solid understanding of electrical testing principles and the ability to carry out compliance checks .
