Job Description Share Share Share Graduate Teaching Assistant Secondary Location: Newcastle Graduate Teaching Assistant Secondary Salary: £75 to £100 per day Start Date: September term of 2024 GSL Education’s Newcastle branch is seeking enthusiastic graduates to join our client schools as Secondary Level Teaching Assistants for the upcoming September 2024 term. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and support students in their academic and personal development. Job Summary A Graduate Teaching Assistant will work closely with faculty members to support their teaching efforts within a specific academic department or program. The primary responsibilities include assisting in course instruction, conducting tutorials or lab sessions, grading assignments and exams, and providing support to students to enhance their learning experience. Graduate Teaching Assistant Secondary Job Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons under the guidance of subject teachers. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals. Create and maintain a supportive and engaging learning environment. Support teachers in assessing student progress and maintaining records of achievement. Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development. Assist students with additional educational needs, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD. Support the school’s behavior management policies to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. Aid subject teachers in maintaining classroom discipline and promoting student engagement during lessons. Essential Requirements For a Successful Graduate Teaching Assistant Secondary A degree in Education or a relevant subject area is preferred but not essential. Enthusiasm for working with adolescents and a commitment to their educational and personal development. Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow professionally within a school setting. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for education. A keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education. Ability to adapt effectively to varying classroom dynamics and educational settings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
