WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a great opportunity for a Technical Product Owner (EV Home Charging) to join the Electrification Services department at JLR and contribute to our reimagined vision of becoming the premier supplier of modern-luxury battery-electric vehicles.
As our cars shift from standalone entities to components of an integrated energy ecosystem, we must offer products and services that maximize potential advantages for our consumers in areas such as home energy management, smart grid integration, and bi-directional charging. As a member of the Technical Programs team within Electrification Services, you will collaborate with internal and external partners as a technical expert to supervise the development of new products and services to achieve Jaguar Land Rover's electrification goal.
As Technical Product Owner, you will oversee the technical aspects of the products and act as a vital link between delivery teams and business stakeholders for home charging solutions in the EV Charging area. You will also help to create and implement these initiatives, as well as understand their interdependencies, to support the overall Electrification Services strategy.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. As a subject matter expert, provide technical leadership in areas such as EV charging communications protocols, home energy management systems and bi-directional charging technology.
2. Establish strategic partnerships with product owners across JLR business units.
3. Convert business needs to precise technical requirements.
4. Develop viable system solutions, then design, discuss, and monitor technical and business requirements to achieve the customer experience.
5. Manage technical evolution across several national and international geographies while ensuring present operations remain stable.
6. Collaborate with the operational and in-market teams to understand needs and business context to move relevant solutions forward.
7. Oversee the required governance, such as milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting, and risk and problem reporting.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Detailed knowledge and experience in one or more areas including EV charging, energy management systems, bi-directional charging V2G/V2H, smart grid integration or a similar/related field.
2. Previous experience in a similar role leading integration of digital solutions.
3. Functional knowledge of software platforms, IT systems and Digital capabilities.
4. An ability to communicate and influence delivery of products and services in a cross-functional team.
