The Opportunity/Role
Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role will oversee the transport contracts and delivery processes and associated service levels of shipments via courier and parcel networks. You will be responsible for transport planning activities and ensuring high levels of service and a transparent cost-effective operation through collecting, analysing, and interpreting logistics data to help improve our supply chain operations. Key responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with Procurement to manage operational contracts, costs, and service level performance for all courier contracts in Aliaxis UK
2. Plan and coordinate courier operations alongside the Transport Manager to meet customer demands
3. Utilise Planning systems, Excel, and MS Office applications to create transport schedules and reports and manage associated administrative tasks
4. Manage POD access and ensure internal stakeholders are able to access data efficiently
5. Create and maintain robust KPIs to monitor service levels of partners and tie into wider Supply Chain and Commercial functions
6. Manage logistics, including route planning and vehicle allocation
7. Monitor and evaluate carrier performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing strategies for enhancements
Requirements:
1. Experience in a manufacturing environment and developing a strong logistics data process in an SME or larger company with oversight of 3PL contract essential. Day-to-day contract liaison with 3PL courier company preferred
2. Significant experience of driving improvements in 3PL logistics operations across multiple sites and suppliers
3. Strong data analyst comfortable using ERP, WMS, and MRP alongside Excel, Access, and Power BI to automate processes and provide clear reports across the business
4. Experience with MS Dynamics AX (is desirable)
