Job Description
Hays Education are supporting a Special Needs school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start working with them as soon as possible. This role is to cover a vacancy and will continue till the end of the spring term and possibly beyond. The successful temporary candidate would be welcome to apply for the permanent role.
* The school is located in east Birmingham, not far from the city centre, and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos.
* They cater for children at KS4 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
* The role entails supporting male pupils in class who have SEMH and some other additional SEN.
* The school will support with training to candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings.
* The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH.
* You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques.
* Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience.
