About the Position:
As an experienced Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in our dynamic team. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in a design-focused role on UK construction projects, with knowledge of temporary works and BS5975, you’ll be based from one of our current offices, or be prepared to open a new one, and build a team accordingly. This role offers a stimulating career, providing the chance to work on a variety of projects and develop innovative engineering solutions for our clients.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Dive into a range of exciting projects, applying your expertise to diverse scenarios.
2. Manage & co-ordinate the progress of the design through the offices communicating with the customer.
3. Ensure design procedures are adhered to, and CDM/H&S requirements are clearly identified within our schemes.
4. Manage, develop and grow new work streams.
5. Create compelling designs and technical drawings, developing complex solutions making them easily understandable for clients.
6. Ensure flawless planning, design, and implementation of temporary works, embracing the latest software and tools.
7. Conduct site visits, detailed surveys, and develop innovative solutions for ultimate safety.
8. Provide crucial technical support to colleagues, working independently on multiple projects even under tight deadlines.
9. Seize the opportunity to learn and grow by mastering new skills and staying updated with industry standards.
10. Champion safety by implementing a robust strategy in line with Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM2015).
11. Lead and coordinate tasks for junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Essential Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
1. An engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Chartered Status with the ICE or IStructE (or in the process of working towards).
3. Excellent math and general numeracy skills.
4. Excellent 2D AutoCAD skills.
5. Ability to read and understand engineering plans, section details, and general arrangements.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Advanced IT skills.
