Responsibilities:
* Provide academic support to Key Stage 3 (KS3) Looked After Children (LAC) in an outreach setting
* Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the educational needs of each student
* Deliver engaging and interactive tutoring sessions to enhance academic performance
* Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
* Collaborate with education professionals, social workers, and caregivers to support the overall well-being and educational development of LAC
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
* Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience
* Experience working with Looked After Children
* Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong understanding of the UK education system
* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
* Postgraduate qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) (preferred)
* Experience working with children in care (preferred)
This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing outreach tutoring to LAC in the East of England. The work may require travel to different locations within Essex to meet with students.
