Overview
MCL requires a Principal Instrument Engineer on an Carbon Capture and Storage Project for our Oil and Gas client.
Duration: for an initial 2 month contract role that has an immediate start
Rate: a target limited company rate of circa £55.00 per hour.
Location: The role will be based on 5 days a week in the Clients Offices in Leatherhead.
Hybrid working is possible with two days remote per week.
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment

Responsibilities
Job Description
1. Contribute to I&C Design: Develop both preliminary and final stage I&C design deliverables, such as Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Instrument Lists, Instrument Specifications, and Instrument Data Sheets.
2. Budget and Procurement: Prepare budgetary requisitions for I&C equipment and services, and conduct bid evaluations to ensure competitive purchasing and adherence to project budgets.
3. Automation Functions: Perform automation-related job functions, which include creating Input/Output (I/O) lists, Instrumentation lists, and specifying instrumentation and control elements for system integration.
4. Network and System Design: Collaborate with the Controls Engineering team to produce key documents such as Process Control Domain (PCD) Network Design Specifications, Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) Block Diagrams, Network Architecture, and develop an Alarm Philosophy document in line with industry standards and project requirements.
Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in designing and implementing I&C systems, with a strong understanding of P&IDs, I&C
Experience :
Offshore platform experience.
