Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to make a real impact in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a committed and passionate professional to join our Family Safeguarding Service, a dynamic team dedicated to protecting and improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
🛡️ About the Role
As a Social Worker within the Family Safeguarding Service, you will support children and families identified as being at significant risk of harm, providing targeted, long-term interventions following assessment by our Assessment and Support Team or direct referral from MASH. You will be involved at key points, such as the Initial Child Protection Case Conference (ICPC), and will manage cases involving:
Child Protection (CP)
Child in Need (CIN)
Children in Care (CiC)
Care proceedings and private law proceedingsYou will work collaboratively with professionals across agencies, undertaking thorough assessments and delivering clear, analytical reports within statutory timescales.
👣 Key Responsibilities
Carry a mixed caseload of CP, CIN, and CiC cases.
Undertake direct work with children and families, including bespoke interventions.
Develop and implement collaborative, child-focused plans.
Prepare high-quality assessments, court reports, and plans.
Work closely with partner agencies to ensure integrated service delivery.
Respond to concerns around CSE, CSA, and children missing from home.✅ Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a statutory safeguarding children's team.
Proven experience working with children on CIN/CP plans and within public/private care proceedings.
Skilled in direct work with children and families.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of issues relating to CSE, CSA, and missing children.
Valid, clean driving licence.
Clear Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service).
