* Community healthcare services for children, young people and families in Dudley
Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry based in Wolverhampton. This is an existing post within a well-established supportive team working both on the in-patient wards and in the community, having retained the Continuity of Care model. Patients have access to local beds and strong links with community services and the CRHT team ensure that patients remain close to home. Community services are based in a large mental health centre where the successful applicant will work with 3 other consultants and their medical teams; CPNs; OTs; psychologists and social workers, providing sectorised services to the North of the borough.
Main duties of the job
There are opportunities for someone with an enthusiasm for leadership and innovation to become involved in active service improvement and partnership working with GPs and primary care is a focus of our development. The Trust encourages the participation of medical staff in Medical Management and there is strong support from the Clinical Directors. As a training and teaching Trust, there are opportunities to teach postgraduate psychiatric and GP trainees and undergraduates from Birmingham and Grenada Universities. The post holder will work full time to a 10 PA Job Plan.
