Year 4 General Classroom Support Teaching Assistant

Position: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Working Hours: 8:45am - 3:30pm
Salary: £13.65 per hour

School are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 4 General Classroom Support Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
Role Overview:
As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and providing targeted assistance to students. You will work closely with children to help them reach their academic potential, support classroom activities, and contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Year 4 class teacher in planning and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Support students in small groups or one-to-one, particularly in core subjects such as English and Maths.
* Help maintain a calm, focused, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Support students with additional learning needs and adapt resources to meet their requirements.
* Assist in the preparation of classroom displays and learning materials.
* Supervise students during break times and school activities when needed.
* Record and report on student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience working within a Key Stage 2 (KS2) classroom, ideally with Year 4 students.
* A sound understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
* A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students’ learning and development.
Desirable:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
