About the Role
Due to continued growth and expansion, MSL are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who can demonstrate knowledge of quality management and has experience in growing customer & external body relationships. As Quality Engineer, you will be hands-on with a strong background in quality control & process improvement within a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for promoting the improvement of the quality culture throughout the organisation; liaising with colleagues & key stakeholders to maintain agreed standards both to internal & external requirements. Within this role, you will ensure all aspects of day-to-day inspection duties are met, along with defining and implementing continual improvement targets within the quality department.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Coordinating with the quality technicians to ensure all products are final inspected to production deadlines
* Coordinating, planning & conducting regular internal audits
* Creation of key documentation
* Raising of internal & external NCR, investigating root causes & coordinating the implementation of permanent CAPA
* Assisting in ISO9001 management system duties, including the creation of work flows, SOPs, etc.
* Ensuring suppliers meet specifications, liaising with customers over quality concerns & concessions
* Managing quality targets, generating & maintaining business KPIs
* Assisting in the management of the calibration system
* Assisting in the implementation & monitoring of key Quality Controls (FMEA/ 8D, etc.)
* Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection
* Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances & first principle measuring techniques
* Experience in raising NCR, investigations & CAPA implementation
* Experience of FMEA, 8D, AQAP processes - experience of PPAP would be an advantage
* Experience & understanding of QMS (minimum to ISO 9001)
* Good communication skills, must be able to relay information internally & externally
* Strong organisational skills with an attention to detail & focused approach to work
* Proficient IT skills & use of ERP systems
* Experience of CMM
* Experience of auditing to ISO9001
* Previous experience in working with ISO14001 & ISO45001 standards would be advantageous
