Carmichael UK are seeking a Project Support Engineer to work on a permanent basis with a major project piling and geotechnical company.
As Project Support Engineer, you will be proactively supporting the site team in all Engineering aspects of the construction works. You will also be developing and providing technical solutions to construction works activities.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for cage standardisation with the approval of the PM (cost).
2. Provide controlled pile schedules tailored to site.
3. Responsible for the production of fabrication drawings including temporary works/lifting points in the cages.
4. Leading, checking, and approving fabrication drawings from cage suppliers.
5. Responsible for the production of the method drawings (cage installation, central bar installation, etc.).
6. Ensuring method drawings are understood by key people onsite (work manager, PM, site Engineer, supervisor).
7. Responsible for the production of the PTP and WTP drawings.
8. Liaise with Designers, TWC, Cages Suppliers, Plant Department, Testing Companies, Procurement for Engineering and Technical aspects.
9. Provide solutions to site teams. Involve the relevant person to set up the best solution and to push for implementation.
10. Understand site, design, and programme expectations.
11. Anticipate and address potential technical challenges onsite.
12. Engage and receive feedback from the site team for the purpose of continuous improvement.
13. Review associated task briefings when required.
14. Review ITP and provide comments to ensure quality.
15. Review RAMS and provide comments on technical matters.
Physical Working Environment: Regular trips between sites, main offices, and plant yard will be required to fulfil the role.
About You:
1. Previous piling site Engineer experience required.
2. AutoCAD skills desired but optional.
3. Piling Design experience desired but optional.
4. Proficiency in Excel for efficiency is essential.
5. TW management preferred but optional.
6. Ability to demonstrate technical and practical skills such as being able to read, understand and implement drawings, sketches, and specifications.
7. Ability to independently recognise their knowledge and skill limitations and the limitations of those they will be working with.
8. Ability to organize and lead regular meetings with the site teams to ensure challenges are being tackled and solutions implemented are being reviewed.
9. Performance driven (results and behaviours).
10. Confident manner, good presentation skills to Client, Consultant, Site teams, Supply Chain, and internal departments.

Main office location is Burscough; however, there is some flexibility for some working from home (following probation).
This role is for a piling site engineer who wants to support the site rather than being on site full time.
New Year start.
Salary: £40k - £55k dependent on experience.
