Role: Teaching Assistant (Maths & English)
Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Wellingborough and/or Corby Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary from £24,720 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
* Undertaking educational activities and attending to the educational, personal and social needs of students in order to support their learning and development and to ensure their safety.
* Attending to the educational, personal and social needs of students and any other requirements depending on the student’s special needs and, wherever possible, making these part of the learning experience.
* Promoting and supporting the inclusion of all students in the learning activities in which they are involved.
* Supporting a named student or student with a Statement of Special Educational Needs, while also providing support to other students as directed by the manager.
* Assisting with preparation for college visits and the supervision of students on such visits, in liaison with the tutor/manager.
* Assisting in devising and extending educational activities and in preparation of the curriculum, which may include contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and Personal and Pastoral Support Plans.
* Helping to assess and systematically record students’ progress and achievements, using the results of this monitoring in further support work.
* Efficiently preparing, maintaining, and using classroom teaching materials and equipment, including organizing the use of audio/visual and ICT equipment.
* Supporting the teaching of English, maths, or other specific curriculum areas/specialisms as required and agreed with the Manager.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team, particularly the class tutor, the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCO), and other teaching assistants.
* Assisting in the general efficient operation of the college, including providing cover for other support staff and/or teaching staff in the event of their absence, where necessary and as directed by the Manager.
About you:
* Possess a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Have an understanding of the educational needs of children and/or young people.
* Possess the ability to plan and develop educational activities.
* Possess the ability to work collaboratively with others.
* Possess the ability to work without constant supervision.
* Possess the ability to use IT in a classroom setting.
* Be willing to work towards Level 3 in English and Maths.
