Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manual assembly of mechanical parts and semiconductors from technical drawings, including electrical wiring and hydraulic connections.
* Using simple hand and machine tools, including soldering processes.
* Performing general electrical testing of stacks & sub-assemblies.
* Attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained.
* Booking work through the JDE computer system, and other general computer tasks.
* Ensuring jobs are completed on time and in full to customer deadlines.
* Respecting and embracing all aspects of the LFOS and Lean Six Sigma programmes.
Essential Qualifications:
* ONC in BTEC Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* 5 GCSE including Maths and English grade 3(D) or higher.
Skills and Attributes:
* Previous assembly / workshop experience, including wiring, hydraulic fitting & soldering.
* Ability to fully understand and read technical drawings, including electrical schematics & wiring diagrams.
* Keen Interest in electrical / mechanical engineering.
* Good team player who is flexible, able to work under own initiative and possess good communication skills.
* Experience of working to production deadlines, with a can-do attitude.
* Familiar with working within quality principles and standards.
* General computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, email, Windows applications, etc.
* Full British Driving Licence, as some off-site work may be required.
