Chelmsford City Council’s Strategic Housing Service is recruiting a Homeless Officer to join our busy Homeless Team, working with people to prevent homelessness where possible and make decisions as to the Council’s duties under the homelessness legislation.
The successful applicant will have the skills necessary to communicate with people experiencing homelessness and those with complex needs. Experience of working in the housing sector and knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance is essential to be successful. This is a challenging role but one that is also very rewarding, knowing that you are working with others to make a real difference to help those in difficult situations.
The base for working is the Council’s Civic Centre offices but flexible working including working from home is available.
Interviews are currently scheduled for the 17 and 20 January 2025.
Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment vetting which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with Disclosure and Barring Service process.
