Main duties of the job
This role leads on quality and patient safety and has a key role in developing and maintaining effective systems and processes for responding to patient safety incidents for the purpose of learning and improving patient safety and quality of services. This role will ensure that appropriate governance processes for oversight are in place and how learning responses are translated into improvement and integrated into wider improvement work across the ICB.
The Head of Service - All Age NHS Continuing Health Care will ensure compliance and contribute to the ICB plans and efficiency targets to ensure robust management of the All Age NHS Continuing Health Care CHC and workforce budget and financial plans. This will contribute to minimising financial risk to the ICB while meeting key quality standards and key performance indicators.
The Head of Service - All Age NHS Continuing Health Care will lead on continuous service improvement through the use of resources such as data intelligence and feedback from patients, their families/carers, and the system workforce.

Person specification
Education
* Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent level of experience working at a senior level in Continuing Health Care specialty
* Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development
* NMC / HCPC Professional registration
Knowledge
* Significant demonstrable experience with line management responsibility at a senior level
* Proven success in change management, including the ability to motivate staff
* Evidence of clear understanding and experience of safeguarding processes, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act
* Evidence of matrix working in an organisation
* Extensive working knowledge of the National Framework for NHS Continuing HealthCare and Funded Nursing Care and its application in practice
* IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting, and have working knowledge of financial processes
* Demonstrable knowledge of quality improvement methodology and the ability to translate this to practice
