Deputy Manager – Pembroke Dock - Maes Y Coed – Hourly rate £13.75 to £15.25 dependent qualifications and experience – Full time 35 hours per week.

About Maes Y Coed: Maes Y Coed, our newest home in the Pembrokeshire area near Pembroke Dock, comprises four individual flats located on the grounds of its sister service, Bangeston Hall. We take pride in offering personalised care packages tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each adult at Maes Y Coed.
As a Deputy Manager at Maes Y Coed, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our individuals, supporting their daily activities, educational needs, and personal development. You will work closely with a magnificent team including teachers, therapists and other support workers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Care at Maes Y Coed is individually tailored with adults placed at the centre of their own developmental pathway. We support adults to play an active and valued role in their community supported by meaningful and engaging activities, leisure and learning programmes.
A day in the life of a Deputy Manager with Orbis Education and Care Involves:
Supporting the Home Manager to achieve compliance, with the regulatory framework, organisational objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.
Deputising in the manager’s absence and be a creative and innovative leader that supports the home to be a specialist excellent service.
Participating in the Companies “Out of hours” service.
Supporting the staff team with the transition of residents in and out of the home.
Helping to co-ordinate the homes recruitment process and lead interviews for new staff.
Acting as a mentor to new staff and co-ordinate their induction into the home.
Supporting the supervision of all staff and report on compliance.To be a successful Deputy Manager with Orbis Education and Care, you’ll need:
A QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care
At least 2 years working within a care
At least 1 years experience within a team leader/senior role
A good understanding of the Positive behaviour support framework and the active support model as this underpins the way in which Orbis Educations & Care supports all the individual’s living in the home.
Experience of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.
Experience of leading a team of staff who support people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour.
Ability to work independently, meet targets and supervising staff.
Awareness of new developments / standards / best practice in the sector.Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
