Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lifecycle Engineer to join our Product Maturity & Cost team within Controls Lifecycle Engineering.
The Controls Lifecycle Engineering team provides technical support for in-service mechanical and electrical system products across the Civil, Commercial, and Business Aviation engine families. This includes air, oil, fuel, and electrical Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), focusing on maintaining the continued successful in-service operation and reliability of engine fleets. Responsibilities include processing and analyzing LRU service data to provide insights and influence safety, reliability, and cost improvements.
The Lifecycle Engineer will identify opportunities for significant cost and maturity improvements, lead their delivery, and work with internal and external stakeholders, including Customers, Partners, Suppliers, and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul facilities. The role may also support wider Lifecycle Engineering activities such as unit and fleet investigations. The position can be based in Birmingham or Derby, depending on the candidate's circumstances.

Key Accountabilities
1. Collaborate with LRU Suppliers and MRO facilities to improve support, including reliability data analysis.
2. Develop insights and metrics to understand LRU performance and identify safety, reliability, and cost drivers.
3. Present analysis findings to Project, Engineering, and Supplier Management teams.
4. Lead changes to address these drivers through Lifecycle Engineering and Project processes.
5. Enhance the LRU data management system for better insight generation.
6. Support the wider team with cost and maturity challenges.
Key Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in a STEM field or relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, Controls). Other qualifications with experience may be considered.
* Strong numeracy, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; capable of systems-level thinking.
* Familiarity with civil aerospace engine systems is advantageous.
* Experience with software and database tools like Python, Jango, and Azure DevOps is beneficial.
* Self-motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills for influencing stakeholders.
* Good time management and risk management skills in high-pressure environments.
